Laura J. Anderson, Normandy Park resident, has been elected
to the Board of Directors of the Regional Commission on
Airport Affairs.
Ms Anderson, an attorney, is currently
on the staff of SPEAA, the professional association of
engineers and other
technical & professional workers in the aerospace industry
(primarily Boeing).
"Laura brings to our Board not only her lawyerly
skills, but also her prior experience on our Board in early
days," Mr Corvari said. Ms Anderson left the Board
in 1995 to deal with family responsibilities and commitments
to local PTA work (at Mar Vista Elementary School in Normandy
Park).
"I had hoped that by this time the Port of Seattle
would have abandoned its irresponsible third-runway project," Ms
Anderson said, "but they have not. We must all do
what we can to keep the project stopped. I hope that I
can make a difference by serving on the RCAA Board."
Ms Anderson also assumed the position of Secretary, succeeding
Phil Emerson, who resigned to run for the Burien City Council. |
