State-wide Airport Study Moves Ahead

Airport Consultant To Be Selected For
State-wide Airport Study on 31 October

The Technical Committee working with the Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has narrowed the choice of airport consultants for the state-wide airport study to two. The Committee plans to make its final selection on Monday, 31 October. The study was authorized by ESSB 5121, enacted at the 2005 Legislature.

The consultant will lead a study of existing airport capacity & airport facilities state-wide. The public-involvement process, to be carried out by a different consult, is still in the discussion & development stage.

The 13-member committee includes representatives from WSDOT, FAA, two regional planning groups, three airports, & the group representing light-plane owners & pilots.
